We would like to invite you to attend the DrosAfrica Online Workshop 2021. This year we are again online; the COVID-19 pandemia is still raging, travelling is complicated and reducing it will help mitigating the spread of the pandemia. In collaboration with scientists of the University of Ghana, we have organised a virtual workshop with many of the world’s elite scientists presenting their work. We were even able to persuade two Nobel Laureates to be speakers at the workshop!
DrosAfrica is a community of scientists with an interest in learning how Drosophila is used to solve fundamental problems in biology and disease. DrosAfrica has trained more than 100 people from 9 institutions in 8 different African countries. Over the past many years, we have been teaching and working together through workshops across the African continent. These individuals constitute an important part of the future of research in Africa. We strongly encourage members of African institutions, especially women, to apply.
Deadline for receiving applications is October 5th 2021. If you missed last year workshop this is a good opportunity to hear other scientist talk about their latest experiments with flies. For more information please check DrosAfrica website. The workshop will run for 3 days, from 13:30 to 16:30 (UTC+0), from 11th to 13th of October 2021.
Come join us: this will be a great opportunity to be on the cutting edge of science, as viewed through the eyes of the mighty fruit fly, so please choose login in the Menu (create a new Account first), fill the application form, submit it and see you soon!
